The Cutera Excel HR Laser

755nm  Alexandrite and 1064nm ND:YAG

Aesthetics by A.M. offers our clients exceptional, medical-grade laser hair removal treatments, using the world’s leading device: the Cutera Excel HR. This state-of-the-art, FDA-approved laser technology allows our team of highly trained clinicians to provide safe and highly effective treatments.

The Cutera Excel HR combines two powerful lasers – the Alexandrite and Nd:YAG – offering a comprehensive solution for all skin types. Additionally, the advanced sapphire contact cooling system enhances both client comfort and safety, ensuring the most advanced laser hair removal experience available.

The 755 nm Alexandrite laser effectively targets melanin, making it ideal for treating finer hair on lighter skin types (I-III). The 1064 nm Nd:YAG laser, on the other hand, is the safest option for permanent hair reduction on darker and tanned skin tones.

The Excel HR is marketed as the 21st Century Laser Hair Removal System, redefining modern hair removal with fast, efficient treatments. For optimal results, we recommend a course of 8-12 sessions. As individual responses to treatment can vary, periodic top-up sessions may be necessary. A patch test is required prior to the initial treatment.

At Aesthetics by A.M, we pride ourselves on offering a fully personalised service, beginning with a thorough consultation and patch test. Our experienced therapists will address any questions you may have and work with you to create a tailored treatment plan. All of our therapists are Level 5 Laser trained, ensuring that every treatment is both safe and effective.

Please note, laser hair removal is most effective on actively growing hair, as these hairs are attached to the follicle. Since the majority of hair is in the resting stage during treatment, multiple sessions are necessary to target all hairs in the growth phase. Typically, treatments are spaced 4-8 weeks apart to ensure the best possible results.

We recommend approximately 8-12 sessions for permanent hair reduction, although individual factors such as hormones may affect treatment outcomes. In some cases, top-up sessions may be required.

FAQ

How many sessions will I need?

We recommend that most people will need an average of 8- 12 sessions every 4-6 weeks (area depending) to kill the hair follicles beneath the skin and prevent future growth.  Some people will require more sessions if any future hormonal changes result in new growth.  Yearly top ups are also required to keep any stray hairs at bay.
The laser can only treat hairs that are in the growing phase or visible on the skin surface, as a result multiple treatments are required to treat all hair in the skin. With the high power and skin cooling of our laser’s most people only require 8 sessions compared with other IPL or lasers that require 18 or in some cases more. As a result not only are our individual treatments prices lower but you will save more overall due to the superior results of our machines.

Does the laser work on darker skin types?

Yes our lasers will work safely on all skin Types. We will always personalise settings in your treatment plan for the best possible results.

How does the treatment work?

Laser hair removal is a procedure that uses a concentrated beam of light to remove unwanted hair. During the treatment, the laser emits a light that is absorbed by the pigment (melanin) in the hair so the darker the hair the more effective the results. The light energy is then converted to heat, which in turn destroys the hair follicle & this damage then permanently reduces any future hair growth.

The procedure itself is carried out safely using protective eyewear & the laser head is simply places on to the skin with a layer of gel on the treatment area. The applicator is pressed with a slight pressure to ensure the pulse of light is released directly on to the skin & then moved across the area until treated.

An aftercare advice is given following your first session and is reiterated after every treatment to ensure you understand & support the best results from your Laser Hair Removal.
